GPL Consultancy (CI) Ltd is a subsidiary of GPL Construction Services Ltd which has been established and operating in the UK since 1996. For larger projects, GPL works in association with Castle Hayes Pursey LLP (CHP).
We are an experienced construction consultancy specialising in project viability, procurement, financial control, and cost assurance across many sectors of the construction industry and on projects as diverse as the industry itself.
Our personnel are highly experienced qualified individuals offering technical expertise to support projects from inception, design, and construction through to post-implementation.
Our staff have experience of working in the UK, overseas and in the Channel Islands on diverse projects such as constructing power plants in Libya, a Gary Player golf course in Bintan, Indonesia and closer to home by providing specialist services in the construction of Sir Charles Frossard House, the new States Works headquarters, Admiral Park and the refurbishment of hotels in Sark.

Outlining and detailing cost plans updated as work proceeds to achieve cost certainty for the client.
Reducing costs by identifying cheaper alternatives to achieve cost certainty whilst trying to maintain quality.
Producing detailed Bill of Quantities following SMM7 or basic pricing documents used for competitive tendering to let a lump sum fixed price contract.
Analysing bids and producing summary reports.
Enabling clients to budget and manage borrowing and spending on projects.
Managing the procurement process including drafting and executing contracts and updating cost plans.
Commercial management of contracts after award including change order monitoring and control.
Producing O&M manuals in line with the latest requirements.
Finalising and agreeing clients’ accounts with Contractors and Subcontractors on projects.
In conjunction with specialist lawyers, managing the dispute process should it arise and if necessary act on behalf of the respondent or referee should an adjudication ensue.
We have an excellent understanding of the “planning of projects” in a live environment and our plans and programmes provide our team with a clear and concise management tool to ensure project success.
GPL has provided professional services and support on a variety of well-known construction projects some of which are noted below. Other notable projects include the O2 Arena London, BBC New Media Centre at White City London, Princess Hay Shopping Centre in Exeter, and The Gilbert Collection located at Somerset House London.
GPL staff have experience of working in the Channel Islands having been involved in the construction project to build Sir Charles Frossard House, The Bordage office complex, Admiral Park, The States Works Department, and “The Hanger Project” for a private client. Additionally, we have offered commercial advice to Sark Estate Management on several projects in Sark.
